WRCOG PACE Programs
WRCOG administers multiple PACE Programs in collaboration with its private sector partners, which provide financing for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water conservation retrofits on residential and commercial properties. Financing is paid back through a lien placed on the property tax bill.
The California Department of Business Oversight (DBO) issued an alert about misleading mailers that companies have sent to homeowners with Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing. These mailers falsely inform consumers that they are behind on payments and facing foreclosure. The entities providing these notices may be in the business of buying properties in foreclosure or providing foreclosure rescue services. The California DBO has also created a helpful website for homeowners: PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy): What Homeowners Need to Know.
